IDAHO CEMETERY
FRANKLIN COUNTY
The Fairview Cemetery is located south of Preston on the east side
of the Preston, Idaho to Lewiston, Utah
highway. Interment began in 1890 with
some historical documents indicating the first was Walter Eugene Rawlings, two
and one half year old son of Ephraim James and Eliza Jane (Shurtz)
Rawlings. The cemetery encompasses
approximately ten acres of land that is divided into sixteen blocks with four lots
per block and seventy-eight graves per lot.
Grave orientation is typically from west to east. The majority of this information was compiled
from cemetery and genealogical records available as of July, 2004. Verification of the information is
